Content

The aim of this course is to present and discuss recent achievements in research on insect-plant interactions. Topics range from functional ecology such as chemically-mediated interactions to sustainable pest management and further to biodiversity. While the majority of participants are PhD students who will present experimental work, participating MSc students will present a literature study on a methodology suitable for the evaluation of actual research questions (examples: olfactometers to assess the odour-guided orientation of insects towards plants; marking of insects to track them in the field). Students will be coached by a PhD student (or a senior scientist). They will search for literature and other information on their own or in a small team of students.
