Abstract
Mass and heat transfer in multi-phase systems, coupling between chemical reactions and mass and heat transport processes in heterogeneous systems, models for fluid- fluid and fluid-solid reactions, diffusion in porous catalysts, efficiency factor of catalysts, influence of mass transport on global kinetics, kinetic description of surface reactions, and design of multi-phase reactors.
Objective
Knowledge of the fundamental principles of heterogeneous reactions and state-of-the-art methods for selection and design of suitable reactors.
Content
Transport processes in multi-phase systems. Coupling between chemical reactions and mass and heat transport processes in heterogeneous, i.e. multi-phase, reaction systems. Models for fluid- fluid reactions, models for fluid-solid reactions. Diffusion in porous catalysts, efficiency factor of catalysts, influence of mass transport on global kinetics. Models for the kinetic description of surface reactions, models for the design of multi-phase reactors.
