Abstract
Gasturbines are used in various applications such as power generation, mechanical drives, jet engines and ship propulsion because they offer high efficiency and low emissions. For all operating conditions the chosen combustion concepts (mainly lean premix combustion) have to maintain stable heat release (combustion reactions) and low pollutant (NOx, CO) formation.
Objective
Get familiar with the basics of combustion systems in various gas turbine types; acquire knowledge about gas turbine applications and gas turbine based thermodynamic cycles; learn about gas turbine combustor geometries and design rules; understand combustion characteristics for specific conditions relevant to gas turbines

Gasturbinen-Typen und Anwendungen - Flugzeuggasturbinen, stationaere Gasturbinen, mechan. Antriebe, mobile Anwendungen Gasturbinen-Prozesse (thermodyn. Eigenschaften) - Thermodynamische Zyklen, Wirkungsgrad, spezif. Leistung, Prozess-Parameter Gasturbinen-Komponenten (Einführung, Grundlagen) - Kompressoren, Brennkammer, Turbine, Wärmetauscher, ... Brenner-/Brennkammer-Systeme - Gemischaufbereitung, Treibstoffe, Brennkammer-Geometrien, Brennerformen, Flammstabilisierung, Wärmeübertragung, Emissionen. Feuerungstechnologien - magere Vormisch-Verbrennung, gestufte Verbrennung, Pilotierung, Drallflammen, Betriebskonzepte Energie-Bilanzen, Stoff-Flüsse - Kompressionsarbeit, Expansionsarbeit, Wärmefreisetzung, Kühlluft-System, Abgas-Verluste Neue Technologien - katalyt.
