Abstract

Deformation analysis and crustal dynamics; strain and stress tensor, strain-stress relations; velocity-density relationships; gravity anomalies, geoid and geodynamics; Physical Geodesy and physics of the earth's interior

Objective

Applications of Physical Geodesy in Geomatics and Geodynamics. Acquire skills in calculus for modelling and interpretation related to Geomatics and Geodynamics

Content

Analysis of geodetic strain measurements: Application of elasticity theory, vector-and tensor analysis applied to determination of strain and stress tensors. Mechanics and dynamics of deformable media. Material constants of the earth's interior and relationship between strain accumulation and stress release.
