Spatial Statistics and Image Analysis
Räumliche Statistik und Bildanalyse
Last Updated: 2026-02-05 15:29:10
Abstract
Gaussian random field models, parameter estimation and linear interpolation (kriging).Markov random field models on a lattice, Gibbs representation, applications to imagedenoising and deblurring, Markov chain Monte Carlo and simulated annealing asbasic computational tools. Models for point pattern and concepts of stochastic geometry.
Objective
Spatial statistics models and analyzes data that are obtained at different positions in space or in the plane. The main application areas are environmental statistics, where for instance the concentration of pollutants in soil or disease counts in different geographical units are studied, or images, where the data are grey values at the pixels of an image. The course gives an introduction in statistical methods for such data.
Content
Gauss'sche Zufallsfelder ihm kontinuierlicher Raum (Geostatistik): Stationaritaet, Kovarianzfunktionen Variogramme und deren Schaetzung, raeumliche Interpolation.
