Abstract

The overall goal of the course is to give an overview of different practical methods on non-forage food technology.

Objective

Students will - be able to understand the pathway of food production from raw material to final product. - be trained to comprehend the whole purpose of food technology.

Content

Introduction, Literature overview and discussion. Excursions: UFA AG (Herzogenbuchsee), Excursion Food Technology (Bühler AG Uzwil and Zwicky AG Müllheim-Wigoltingen). Practical Training: physical aspects and properties of animal feed.
