Building Structures IV
Tragkonstruktionen IV
Last Updated: 2026-02-05 15:30:06
Abstract
Reinforced concrete: Constructional bases and hints on the formation of the most important bearing elements. Bearing resistance, safety and durability. Foundations: Reciprocity between building and the ground on which it stands. Soil qualities, issues of stability in grounding, bearing qualities and settling. Basic concepts for the dimensioning and design of foundations and columnar structures.
Content
Third Semester: Steel and timber construction: constructional determination of bearing elements, bearing structures and connections. Bases of materially appropriate construction. Concepts of dimensioning: safety and workability. Formulae for dimensioning, issues of stability, formulae for the approximation of initial dimensions. Consideration of design project in engineering terms, in collaboration with design professors. Fourth Semester: Reinforced concrete: basics of behavioral models. Constructional bases and hints on the formation of the most important bearing elements. Determination of bearing resistance and the formulae for dimensioning deduced from it. Safety and workability, formulae for the approximation of initial dimensions. Foundation building: Reciprocity between building and the ground on which it stands. Soil qualities, issues of stability in grounding, bearing qualities and settling. Basic concepts for the dimensioning and design of foundations and columnar structures. Formation and stabilization of excavations for building.
