Abstract
The lecture examines the art and architecture of Roman Baroque. Based on selected objects the political, religious and social conditions of the production of art in early modern Rome are presented, thus illustrating, beyond the distinction between architecture, sculpture and painting, the function and development of baroque art between the artists’ ‚ingenio’ and religious propaganda.
Objective
Vermittlung eines vertieften Einblicks in den Gegenstandsbereich und die methodischen Grundlagen der Kunstgeschichte der Neuzeit. Anhand der exemplarischen Auseinandersetzung mit einer spezifischen monographischen, topographischen oder thematischen Problemstellung werden unfassende Kenntnisse der Schlüsselfiguren und Hauptwerke der jeweiligen Epoche oder des jeweiligen Themas vermittelt.
