Abstract
The course covers two terms. The methods of policy advisory tasks in agricultural econom-ics and policy are discussed in the first term. In the second term, the content focuses on regional development and regional policy. The fundamental assumptions and economic ba-sis of the methods are discussed so that it is possible to deduce the influence exerted by the choice of method on the results and
Objective
The students learn how the basic principles presented in the methodical lectures can be ap-plied to agricultural and regional economics. This enables them to select and substantiate a suitable method to solve a specific problem. In particular, the way in which the choice of method influences results and conclusions will be examined with the students.
Content
The objectives of regional policy, the use of simulation models and qualitiative methods serve as an approach to the field of regional competitiveness as well as developments in employment and population, regional development and educational organisations, resp. regions.
