Materials for Advanced Nuclear Fission Plants
Last Updated: 2026-02-05 15:15:04
Abstract
Program:Combined Cycle Nuclear Plants (electricity/process heat), service exposure and materials damage in current and future nuclear plants, materials for pressure vessel, reactor internals, heat exchangers, He-gast turbine, hydrogen production, fuel, materials modelling, multiscale approach
Objective
Concerns about CO2 emissions and expectations of an increased hydrogen consumption in the future led to a serious re-consideration of the nuclear option. The aim of this seminar is to discuss materials aspects for current and in particular for future advanced fission plants. Participants shall know: Most important current and future nuclear fission applications Material challenges in fission applications Damage and damage interaction Life time assessments: traditional methods and advanced methods (materials modelling and multiscale approach
