Abstract

Dirichlet and Neumann boundary value problems. The eigenvalue problem for the Laplacian on a domain. Hilbert spaces. Weak differentiability and Sobolev spaces. The normal exponential map - focal points and cut points. Homology and cohomology of domains in Euclidean space. Electrostatics and magnetostatics of conductors. The electromagnetic eigenvalue problem.
