Abstract

The lecture series, spread over two terms, deals with strategic thinking and practice from the ancient times to the present. It covers classical theory as well as military campaigns, the security strategies of alliances, single major powers and non-state actors (e.g. al-Qa'ida). The series concludes with an assessment of Switzerland's security strategy since World War II.
