Abstract

Level B2 (global scale of the Europena Council).

Objective

The course aims a complementarity of the paradigm grammar/oral communication. A particular emphasis will be given to the use of tenses and moods. The cultural diversity in the different Spanish-speaking regions of the world will be emphasized. We will use original documents, among other material.

Content

We will perform a review of all tenses of indicativo and the present tense of the subjuntivo. We will also approach the past tenses of subjuntivo, undertaking subordinate sentences of different categories. Passive constructions and a review of ser/estar and prepositions are to be studied. As far as oral communication is concerned, we will take topics from our semestral reading to focus them under a personal an contemporary perspective.

We will use material created and/or adapted by the teacher (a small fee will be asked for photocopies). We will also read a novel or short stories by a contemporary Latin American author. Details will be given at the beginning of semester.
