Empirical Methods for organizational Analysis

Abstract
Methods for data acquisition in organizational contexts are covered, especially surveys, interviews, and behavioral observation. Methods for quantitative and qualitativa data analysis are presented and practiced. Basics of study design are discussed in view of requirements of internal and external validity.

Planning and implementation of empirical analyses in organizations based on validity criteria.
Content
Study designs for social science and technical questions; overview of social science methods for data gathering and analysis; illustration and practical experience with examples of organizational analyses like work process analysis, employee surveys and usability tests.
