Abstract

This course is about know-who based entrepreneurship and the emergence of new networked business models as illustrated by many innovation leaders who focus on exploitation, while leaving a large part of the exploration to the world of academic science and external research institutes. It helps to better understand how companies can foster and channel creativity into business reality.

Objective

This course is about know-who based entrepreneurship and the emergence of new networked business models – as illustrated by Bang & Olufsen, Porsche, SIG Combibloc and many other innovation leaders who focus on exploitation, while leaving a large part of the exploration to the world of academic science and leading external research institutes. Through symbiotic networking and relationship management, know-who based companies find new short cuts to bridge the gap between exploration and exploitation so as to accelerate the process from knowledge creation to business implementation. The overall purpose of the course is to help us better understand how companies can foster and channel creativity into business reality without stifling it – in other words, how companies can grow through innovation. In-depth case studies and experience-based insights are enriched by selected theories to propose new ways of managing the flow from knowledge creation to business implementation across three half-day lectures.
