Abstract
Formulation of basics with regard to the understanding of the role of atmospheric water vapor in Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering. Actual measuring techniques, theory, modelling, and practical applications.
Objective
Formulation of basics with regard to the understanding of the role of atmospheric water vapor in Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering. Actual measuring techniques, theory, modelling, and practical applications. Self-dependent contributions to the fields of software, hardware, and processing.
Content
Basics of meteorological parameters (standard atmosphere), errors by microwave based measuring techniques (GPS, VLBI, Satellite Altimetry). Overview over terrestrial and airborne measurement techniques: Water vapor radiometry, solar spectrometry, radio soundings, Lidar. GPS-Applications: Estimation of tropospheric parameters, GPS/MET (Satellite-occultation technique), water vapor tomography and its assimilation in meteorological models. Practical application of measuring systems and self-dependent evaluations.
