Abstract
The course gives an overview of important developments in the political, economic, social and cultural spheres of twentieth century Latin America. In the colloquium will be deepend the discussion of selected aspects of this history.
Objective
Vorlesung und Kolloquium sollen in die Geschichte Lateinamerikas im 20. Jahrhundert einführen. Auf einem Mittelweg zwischen allgemeiner Orientierung und der Behandlung einzelner Aspekte soll ein Verständnis für Prozesse und Strukturen vermittelt werden, welche bis in die Gegenwart ihre Wirkung auf die Gesellschaften des Subkontinents entfaltet haben.
