Abstract
This lecture of two semesters provides an introduction to the basic economic concepts of insurance. The learning goal is understanding of the basic economic concepts of insurance.

The content of part II is: - Choice under uncertainty (expected utility; risk aversion) - Demand for insurance (formal analysis; examples) - Special topics (criticism of the expected utility; moral hazard; adverse selection; risk management) - Reinsurance (basic concepts; proportional and non-proportional reinsurance; retrocession; alternative risk transfer)
