Engineering Geology Seminar

Abstract

The seminar includes external guest lectures, literature study and the preparation of a research plan for the MSc project. Preparation of a research plan requires understanding of research methods, concepts and tools. In addition students will make contacts with researchers and practitioners, and get an understanding of the international engineering geology community.

Objective

The students learn how to do literature search and how to present and discuss scientific results. The students get in-depth knowledge into a few selected research topics in engineering geology and prepare and discuss their research plan for their MSc thesis project.

Content

The seminar starts with lectures presented by external guest scientists and structured discussions. The subsequent lectures given by the students refer to their proposed master thesis project.
