Transfer of detailled knowledge of tunneling methods for excavation in hard rock as a core competence of the Swiss construction industrie.

Objective

Advanced knowledge of tunneling techniques as well as professional skill to apply the construction methods under various project specific boundery conditions.

History and relevance of tunneling: - Rock classification - Excavation- and supporting methods Excavation methods: - Drill and blast excavation - Poad header excavation - TBM excavation Logistic: - Back-up systems - Mucking and transport systems - Ventilation - Site installation Supporting methods: - Shotcrete - Rock bolts and steel arches - Face supporting measures, pipe umbrellas Lining methods: - Concrete lining - Tubbings Cycle time analysis for optimization of the overall process
