Abstract

All aspects of the public transportation planning process from market demand to service planning to capacity analysis. Methods for service design and production planning.

Objective

Students will develop a basic knowledge of all stages of the public transport planning process from market demand, through service planning to technical dimensioning, including the most important methods of transport service organization and production planning.

Content

Transport and administrative policy; marketing strategies for public transport; service planning strategies and service offers; long distance, regional and city public transport service strategies; access to public transport and the last mile; technical aspects of public transport service; capacity of railway facilities; production planning of railway and regional transport; vehicle strategies and concepts; dimensioning production resources.
