Abstract
Specialized aspects of biology are dealt with under the viewpoint of their presentation, their historical development, their significance for the field, the individual and society, and corresponding educational tools are elaborated.
Objective
It is the goal of this course to train the ability of transmitting specialized (even new) scientific knowledge to various groups of recipients und to develop appropriate educational tools.
Content
Demanding biological topics are dealt with under special consideration of the special needs of persons involved in teaching. The course consists of three parts: 1) Lectures on core topics (14 half days, during the winter semester) 2) Project with an educational focus, in a biological research group (8 weeks) 3) Seminar with presentation (14 half days)
