Abstract

The guiding principle of this lecture is that students can understand the different factors involved in hurricane formation and predict if hurricanes increase in a warmer climate

Content

Review of cloud formation, cloud dynamics and cloud microphysics relevant for understanding hurricane formation. Differences to extratropical cyclones will be discussed as well.
