Abstract

Students have some insights into fruit production, berry production, viticulture and vegetable production in Switzerland and in some interesting scientific challenges in relation to these crops (following on Hortculture I).

Students have some insights into fruit production, berry production, viticulture and vegetable production in Switzerland and in some interesting scientific challenges in relation to these crops.

Content

Insights into fruit-growing (pre- and post-harvest), small fruit-growing, viticulture (with some hints on wine making) and vegetable-growing (pre-harvest) in Switzerland: - Berries: Oberview on macro-economical importance (acrage, farms, ...) of the crops mentioned - All crops: Selection of scientifc and practical hints on the basis of production technique, crop protection, physiology, genetic variability, etc.
