Content

Introduction to magnetic resonance imaging: Basic phenomena of nuclear magnetic resonance; 2- and 3-dimensional imaging procedures; fast and parallel imaging techniques; imgae reconstruction; pulse sequences and imgae contrast. MRI equipment and installation. Modern techniques for the assessment of tissue and organ function: Identification of activated brain areas (BOLD fMRI); perfusion and diffusion; diffunsion tensor imaging (DTI) and fiber tracking; assessment of heart motion; angiography and blood flow quantification; contrast agents;localized magnetic resonance spectroscopy and spectroscopic imaging. Diagnostic applications and appliocations in research. MRI equipment and installation. Interventional MRI. Biologic risks and limitations.
