Statistical Methods and Analysis Techniques in Experimental Physics
Last Updated: 2026-02-05 15:19:02
Abstract
The lectures cover modern methods of statistical analysis, as it is applied in data analysis of experimental physics. The topics include probability distributions, parameter estimation, treatment of errors, hypotheses testing and multivariate methods. The exercises also provide the opportunity to perform independent analyses of particle physics data from real experiments, using the computer.
Objective
Acquire skills for analysing large data samples and learn how to present your physics results.
