Last Updated: 2026-02-05 15:19:11
Abstract
Film course: finding your own themes, pictures and sounds, learning through practice with video.
Objective
After this lecture, the students will be able to produce a short film independently. They will be able to handle a digital camera and cut their material on computer. They would have learnt about working in a team. They will have made deliberate aesthetic decisions about their films to produce the intended effects. They will discuss movies. Through learning by doing and simply through being inspired they will have learned about the basics of film making.
Content
Learn about the techniques and possibilities of film while working on and discussing your own project: The single camera angle, relationship between different takes, interaction between picture and sound, dramatization, up to the realisation of your own short film. Through discussion during the process of filming we will gather together our experiences and insights into the way audiovisual media works. The main aim of the course, however, is to realize a project among small groups of students.
