Abstract

Programming Mathematica, application to selected problems of engineering mechanics and applied mathematics.

Objective

Being able to use computer algebra to solve problems of engineering and science.

Content

- Overview of modern computer algebra applications. - Understanding and programming Mathematica. - Application to selected problems from the following fields: -- eigenvalue problems of differential operators, -- perturbation methods, -- numerical solution of ordinary and partial differential equations, -- deformation of curved beams, -- nonlinear dynamics and chaotic behaviour.
