Exposure measurements, threshold levels and health effects of pollutants and noise
Expositionsmessung, Grenzwerte und Gesundheit
Last Updated: 2026-02-05 15:19:25
Abstract
Concepts and methods for assessing exposure to air pollutants (e.g. fine particles, phtochemical smog (ozone)) and noise will be presented. Examples of health effects and criteria for setting threshold levels will be discussed.
Objective
- to understand the basic concepts of an exposure assessment (air, noise) - to know the methods used in health effect research - to know the criteria and methods for setting threshold levels
Content
- sources of pollutants (indoors and outdoors) - concepts of an exposure assessment - measurement methods for gases and particles - health effect of pollutants (methods, most important pollutants, such as fine particles, PM-10 and ozone) - (ev. noise (sources, measuring, effects)
