Abstract
Before we think we have a vague idea of what thinking signifies. We live always with a certain image of thinking. This image represents the unquestionned dogmatic foundation of a time. For Gilles Deleuze the quest for an unorthodox image of thinking was the issue of philosophy. The seminar studies his remarks on noologie and certain influential positions on thinking from Plato to Heidegger.

Before we think, we have a vague idea of what thinking signifies. We live always with and we think always within a certain image of thinking. This image represents the doxa and the unquestionned dogmatic foundation of a time. For the French philosopher Gilles Deleuze (1925 - 1995), the quest for a new, unorthodox, anti-dogmatic image of thinking was the main issue of philosophy. The seminar studies Deleuzes remarks on Noologie, as he called the theory and analysis of the image of thinking. In addition certain influential noological positions from Plato to Heidegger will be discussed.
