Abstract
This course imparts concepts and theories about regional economics and regional politics. This knowledge can be used for the comprehension of spatial development and regional competitiveness. Topics: Economic basic concepts, location theory, growth and developement models, overview and perspectives of regional politics.
Objective
Die Studierenden sollen die Kompetenz erwerben, raumwissenschaftliche, regional- und umweltökonomische Konzepte und Theorien zu kennen und auf konkrete Fragestellungen aus ihrem Studienbereich anwenden zu können. Anhand von Fallbeispielen werden die theoretischen Konzepte und Modelle diskutiert

(1) Regionalökonomie: - Basiskonzepte: Region / 2 Regionen - Modell, Grundkonzept "Markt" / Transaktionsmodell / Economies of scale, Produktionsmodelle / Produktions-Netze, Wertschöpfungs-Rechnung, privat und öffentliche Güter, Regional-Analyse - Standortlehre: Disparitäten, Standortfaktoren, klassische Standort-Modelle, aktuelle Standort-Diskussion - Wachstums- und Entwicklungs-Modelle: regionales Wachstum, Export-Basis-Theorie, Input-Output-Analyse, Konvergenz-Divergenz - Anwendung: Standort-Kosten-Modell, unrentable Schweiz (2) Regionalpolitik: - Überblick: CH-Regionalpolitik (IHG), EU (Kohäsionsfond), Landwirtschaftspolitik - Perspektiven: Neue regionale Planung (NRP)/ Finanzausgleich (NFA), Label-Regionen
