Content

The course builds upon the Bachelor course 701-0553-00 and deepens the understanding of Landscape Ecology. It emphasizes pattern and processes, use of spatial analysis, movement of species in space, up-scaling, new methods of ecological remote sensing including multispectral analysis, restoration ecology (rivers & terrestrial ecosystems) and its meaning for the landscape manager, advanced topics in species modeling and its application for nature and landscape protection. The course seeks to link theory with practical applications and is thus ideally suited for master student that aims at pursueing a career in landscape management. Many practical exercises are planned.
