Abstract
The seminar discusses texts on the rationality of science. Basing knowledge claims only on empirical investiagtion and logics is critized because of the heterogeneity of the sciences, the role of the social context in the development of science, the importance of research practices and their moral implications.
Objective
Students know some important positions and issues in philosophy of science and are able to discuss their importance for environmental or natural sciences.
Content
The seminar completes the lecture by giving the opportunity to discusses texts on the rationality of science. Basing knowledge claims only on empirical investiagtion and logics is critized because of the heterogeneity of the sciences, the role of the social context in the development of science, the importance of research practices and their moral implications..
