River morphology and environmentally friendly hydraulic engineering
Flussmorphologie und naturnaher Wasserbau
Last Updated: 2026-02-05 15:05:50
Abstract
Channel formation of alluvial rivers (regime width, planforms) is presented. Fluvial hydraulics and sediment transport theory are summarised. Principles of environmentally friendly hydraulic engineering are derived from river morphology. Special attention is given to the application to flood protection and river restoration projects.
