Last Updated: 2026-02-05 15:05:19
Abstract
The course provides methods and tools of ecological assessments dealing with nature conservation strategies or landscape planning. An overview is given from census methods (e.g. bird census) to measurement indices (e.g. biodiversity) evaluating the biological data.
Objective
The main aims are: 1) to evaluate the validity of biological data used in decision making processes; 2) to get the theoretical and practical background of biodiversity monitoring programs in various scales; 3) to become convenient with biological data books and local, regional, and national inventories, 4) to identify lacks of knowledge and skill in using biological data for nature conservation and landscape plannings.
