Abstract

General overview of the development, main focus:correction of waterbodies in the 19th century, urban planning in the 19th and early 20th centuries, urban and spatial planning in Germany from 1945, development of Swiss spatial planning in the 1930s and 40s as well as the institutionalisation of spatial planning since the 1960s until the Raumplanungsgesetz of 1980.
