Abstract

This course provides contemporary information on the forestry sector and creates an overview on the use and protection of forest resources, by discussing the relation to the management of tropical and subtropical forest ecosystems. A special focus is given to the multifunctionality of forests and its relation to relevant themes of development cooperation.

Objective

The students are familiarized with the general, ecological and economical aspects of forest resources and forest products. Thereby the relation between the multifunctionality of forests and its relation to relevant themes of development cooperation is devised.
