Abstract
It is important for our daily navigation to know, when and if it is necessary and appropriate to show feelings. We experience and learn from other cultures that showing feelings may elicit very different reactions. This causes both practical problems and an uncertainty of what feelings are and for what they are meant.
Objective
Understanding of how feelings manifest themselves in different forms of human expression and how they are perceived.
Content
It is important for our daily navigation to know, when and if it is necessary and appropriate to show feelings. We experience and learn from other cultures that showing feelings may elicit very different reactions. This causes both practical problems and an uncertainty of what feelings are and for what they are meant. What do we know about feelings and what about their relationsship to emotions. What does today's neuroscience contribute to this knowledge of how emotional processes get apparent? What, on the other hand is or could be the contribution of other forms of manifestations, as arts and literature.
