Abstract
The fundamental background of the thermodynamics of moist air, the physics of cloud and precipitation formation and the relevance of these processes for climate are discussed.
Objective
The students can appreciate the processes leading to cloud and precipitation formation and their importance for climate. This lecture is the requirement for the MSc lectures cloud microphysics and cloud dynamics.
