Atmospheric Chemistry
Atmosphärenchemie
Last Updated: 2026-02-05 15:06:22
Abstract
Troposphere/stratosphere as 'reactors', ozone distribution and UV radiation - kinetic basics - stratospheric chemistry (ozone depletion, trends, Montral protocol) - tropospheric chemistry of the gas phase (air pollutants, boundary layer, smog, global photo chemistry) - SO2 oxidation and polluted precipitation - aerosols - global cycles, radiative forcing (IPCC, global warming potentials)
Objective
The learning goal of the course is a general overview on the most important processes of atmospheric chemistry and the various problems of the anthropogenic changes in the composition of the earth atmosphere.
Content
- Einleitung zu Troposphäre/Stratosphäre als 'Reaktoren', Ozonverteilung und UV-Strahlung - Reaktionskinetische Grundlagen (thermische/photochemische Einzelreaktionen und radikalische Kettenreaktionen) - Stratosphärenchemie (Ozonabbau, -trends, Montrealer Protokoll) - Troposphärenchemie der Gasphase (NOx/VOC, Luftschadstoffe, Grenzschicht, Smog, globale Photochemie) - SO2 Oxidation und schadstoffbelastete Niederschläge - Aerosole - Global cycles, radiative forcing (IPCC, Global warming potentials)
