Last Updated: 2026-02-05 15:06:23
Abstract
Experiments on the methodology and application of spectroscopy in the following areas: NMR spectroscopy, ESR spectroscopy, holography, single molecule detection and spectroscopy, UV/VIS absorption spectroscopy, high resolution IR spectroscopy, carbon dioxide laser and IR multi photon excitation, time resolved bi-molecular kinetics, near-infrared spectroscopy, cavity ring-down spectroscopy.
Objective
The aim of this laboratory course is to provide the detailed basics of some special experimental methods and techniques in the field of physical chemistry, essentially spectroscopy. Students have to analyze experimental data and to write scientific reports and to give an oral presentation.
Content
List of experiments: FT nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy, holography, single molecule detection and spectroscopy, high-resolution infrared spectroscopy, infrared multiphoton excitation using CO2 laser, time-resolved bimolecular reaction kinetics, near-infrared spectroscopy using cavity ring-down technique.
