Abstract

In this course we propose and solve practically relevant linear partial differential equations; common tools are separation of variables and fourier series methods for representation of solutions to the linear heat equation and wave equation in special cases. Further tools are Fourier- and Laplacetransformation which are discussed in the lecture.

Objective

Other topics include the characterization of solutions to the Laplace equation and the method of characteristics.
