Objective
To understand forest as a complex system in which biotic, abiotic, social, political and economic factors play important roles. To think in temporal and spatial dimensions outside one’s immediate experience. To recognize common and/or different aspects of agriculture and forestry. To become aware of the shortcomings of the scientific approach in view of the immensely wide natural variability of woody plants.
Content
According to the wishes of the participants, selected topics will be presented of the following fields: Tree Biology, Forest Dynamics, Postglacial Forest History, Forests of the World, Wood Properties, Forest Management, Silviculture. Additional Topics on request
