Abstract
The course treats current questions, problems and research related to nutrient cycles in agro-ecosystems. It is composed by experts contributions on themes related to substance fluxes, soil quality and food security in relation to plant nutrition and the recycling of nutrients with organic fertilizers.
Objective
Aims of the seminar are: - to deepen the knowledge acquired in other courses on plant nutrition and nutrient cycles in agroecosystems; - to learn about current problems related to nutrient cycles in agroecosystems; - to enable participation in discussions with professionals who are in their work dealing with these matters; - to show how knowledge on nutrient cycles in agro-ecosystems is being applied by experts.
Content
The course treats current questions, problems and research related to nutrient cycles in agro-ecosystems. It is composed by experts talks on themes related to substance fluxes, soil quality and food security in relation to plant nutrition and the recycling of nutrients with organic fertilizers. During an excursion lasting half a day, a relevant theme is being studied on site. The program will be available on http://www.pe.ipw.agrl.ethz.ch/ around August 2006.
