Networks and Circuits I
Netzwerke und Schaltungen I
Last Updated: 2026-02-05 15:06:52
Abstract
The electric current and voltage; linear and non-linear resistive circuit elements; theory of meshed linear circuits (time variant and time invariant); electric energy and power; ideal amplifier circuits with controlled current sources.Non-linear resistive systems, transistor amplifier as a non-linear system.
Objective
The goal of this lecture is to make the students familiar with the fundamental electrotechnical phenomena like current and voltage and to introduce the way of thinking of electrical engineers in terms of equivalent circuits. The students should be put into a position to analyse simple and more complex circuits in regard to their characteristics and functionality. Also the students should be able to create circuits according to a certain specified function.
Content
The electric current and voltage; linear and non-linear resistive circuit elements; theory of meshed linear circuits (time variant and time invariant); electric energy and power; ideal amplifier circuits with controlled current sources. Non-linear resistive systems, transistor amplifier as a non-linear system. As in the first semester the mathematical basics are not yet fully developed, the lecture is limited to direct current circuits. The knowledge to be achieved will be intensified by thorough exercises.
