Abstract

Introduction to major fossil groups with their age and/or ecological significance, and their evolutionary history. Understanding the properties of the fossil record and extract its biochronological component, with applications to basin analysis, paleobiogeography, changes in biodiversity. Introduction to methods in paleontology and biostratigraphy.
