Abstract

Adaptations of aquatic organisms to physical and chemical properties of freshwater and marine environment

Objective

Morphological, behavioral and physiological adaptations of aquatic organisms to specific conditions in aquatic ecosystems.

Content

Definition of aquatic habitats (oceans, lakes, ponds, wetland, springs, streams and rivers) Adaptation of organisms to specific physical characterisitcs in aquatic ecosystems (light, temperature, water movement, tides, viscosity of water) Adaptations to limiting nutrients, Oxygen content and pH - variations Adaptations to Salinity.
