Decision is a complex process and very often iterative. Decision analysis offers a set of structured procedures that assist decision makers in: structuring decision problems and developing creative decision options; quantifying their uncertainty; quantifying their preferences; combining their uncertainty and preferences to arrive at optimal decsions. Decision analysis results from combining the fields of systems analysis and statistical decision theory. The methodology of decision analysis assist logical decisions in complex, dynamic, and uncertain situations.
