Abstract
Es wird eine Übersicht über die wichtigsten Verfahren zur Berechnung elektromagnetischer Felder gegeben. Dazu gehören Gebietsmethoden wie Finite Differenzen und Finite Elemente, die Momentenmethode und Randdiskretisierungsmethoden. Betrachtet werden sowohl Zeitbereichs- als auch Frequenzbereichsverfahren.

Overview of concepts of the main numerical methods for the simulation of electromagnetic fields: Finite Difference Method, Finite Element Method, Transmission Line Matrix Method, Matrix Methods, Multipole Methods, Image Methods, Method of Moments, Integral Equation Methods, Beam Propagation Method, Mode Matching Technique, Spectral Domain Analysis, Method of Lines. Applications: Problems in electrostatic and magnetostatic, guided waves and free-space propagation problems, antennas, resonators, inhomogeneous transmissionlLines, nanotechnic, optics etc.
