Objective

Understanding, quantitative modelling and practical application of experimental methods for producing and measuring mechanical quantities (motion, deformation, stresses,..)

Content

1. General Aspects: Measurement chain, transfer functions, vibrations and waves in continuous systems, modal analysis, statistics, digital signal analysis, phase locked loop. 2. Optical methods ( acousto optic modulation, interferometry, holography, photoelasticity, shadow optics, Moire methods ) 3. Piezoelectric materials: basic equations, applications, accelerometer ) 4. Electomagnetic excitation and detection, 5. Capacitive detection Practical training and homeworks
